A Wild Reward: Maybury Elementary Brings the Zoo to School!
Top Students Enjoy In-House Field Trip with Exotic Animals, Horse Rides, and Treats

Maybury Elementary School’s playground transformed into a wildlife wonderland this week as a reward for students who demonstrated excellent grades, behavior, and attendance through the school’s PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program.

These high-achieving students were treated to an exciting in-house field trip featuring a visit from the Exotic Zoo and Petting Farm. More than 20 animals were on display, including turtles, ducks, chickens, pigs, rabbits, baby lambs, a snake, monkey, kangaroo, a baby fox, porcupine, owl, and even an alligator!

One of the biggest highlights? Students got the chance to ride a horse around the playground—an experience many will never forget. To top it all off, they enjoyed snacks and juice under the spring sunshine.

“The kids were thrilled,” said Principal Smith. "This is a celebration of their hard work, responsibility, and kindness. We love recognizing and rewarding positive behavior.”

With laughter, learning, and plenty of animal encounters, the day was a roaring success—proving once again that great things happen when students give their best every day.
