4th Grade Explores History at Greenfield Village! 🏛️🚌

Our 4th graders recently took a step back in time during an unforgettable field trip to Greenfield Village! 🎩📜 Students had the opportunity to explore historic homes, ride in a real Model T 🚗, and witness live demonstrations of early American life 🔨🔥.

From learning how glass was blown by hand 🧪 to seeing the actual lab where Thomas Edison worked 💡, our students made connections between the past and present in exciting, hands-on ways. They walked through historic buildings 🏠, watched skilled artisans at work 🎨, and even chatted with costumed interpreters who brought history to life 🎭.

One highlight was riding the horse-drawn carriage through the village 🐴, giving students a sense of what transportation was like before modern cars. Another favorite moment? Visiting the one-room schoolhouse 🏫 and imagining what it was like to be a student over a hundred years ago!

This field trip wasn’t just fun—it helped reinforce key lessons from our social studies curriculum 📚 about life in early America, invention and innovation, and Michigan’s unique place in history 🌍.

A big thank-you 🙌 to our wonderful chaperones and staff for making this experience possible. We’re proud of how curious, respectful, and engaged our 4th graders were during their journey through the past! 👏💙
