Curriculum and Academic Committee Meeting In Person Monday, August 30th 11 a.m. This Board of Education committee meeting will be held at the Fisher Building (3011 E. Detroit Branch NAACP Fight for Freedom Dinner Arts and Essay Contest: With the theme of “What the Civil Rights Struggle Means to Me,” DPSCD students K-12 are invited to submit your entry by September 16, 2021 at 6 p.m. Noteworthy for this year is the new chair of the contest, none other than DPSCD Board of Education President Angelique Peterson-Mayberry. Parents and teachers, entering this contest can be one of your students first milestones of the new school year, slated to begin on September 7th. Parents and Families-Be Sure to Opt Back in to Robo Call/Robo Text System! With new school year about to start on September 7, parents and families are encouraged to opt back in to the Robo call/Robo text system. Directions to Opt Back In:
- Phone calls: Call the Blackboard Phone Hotline at "855-502-STOP (855-502-7867)" from the phone line that has been opted out.
- Text (SMS) messages: Reply START to "60680" from the phone line that has been opted out for non-emergency messages. Reply START to "54968" for emergency messages.

Immunizations This Month: Kindergarten, 7th Grade and New Students to DPSCD! A reminder that all DPSCD kindergarten, 7th grade, and new students must be up to date on immunizations prior to attending school. DPSCD, in partnership with Wayne Integrated Health, will provide all immunizations for children as you prepare to return to school on September 7th, 2021. COVID vaccines (Pfizer) will also be available for children 12+. The remaining immunizations sessions will be held at Ben Carson High School on: Mon, Tue, & Thurs. 8/30, 8/31, 9/2 from 1:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
