NAACP Contest for K-12

The NAACP Detroit Branch is excited to invite students in grades K-12 to participate in the 35th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner Art & Essay Contest! This is an excellent opportunity for young minds to express their creativity and thoughts on the theme: "What the Civil Rights Struggle Means to Me." Students can showcase their talent through art or writing while honoring the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement. Plus, there are cash prizes for the top entries!

Event Details:

  • Who can participate? Students in grades K-12

  • Entry Deadline: Wednesday, April 23, 2025, by 6 PM
  • Prizes:
    • 🥇 1st Place - $500
    • 🥈 2nd Place - $350
    • 🥉 3rd Place - $250
