Celebrating Culture and Community on Count Day at the Academy of the Americas

Count Day at the Academy of the Americas was a special day filled with fun activities and cultural celebrations. Both the Cub and Tiger Campuses participated in games of Lotería, also known as Latino bingo. Students were excited to join in the traditional game, which created lots of laughter and friendly competition. To make the day even sweeter, each student received a bag of candy filled with treats from different Latin American countries, giving them a taste of the diverse cultures represented in the school community.

At the Tiger campus, students in grades 4 through 8 also took part in a friendly game of tug-of-war. The activity brought out teamwork, energy, and school spirit as classmates cheered each other on. The competition was lighthearted but exciting, and it gave students the chance to bond with their friends while celebrating Count Day. It was one of the highlights of the day that left everyone smiling.

The celebration continued with a special cultural performance for all students. The mariachi teachers from El Ballet Folklorico Estudiantil played lively songs that filled the school with joy to the students. These performances gave students the opportunity to experience music and dance that reflect Latino heritage, making Count Day not only fun but also meaningful.
