Celebrating the Class of 2025: A Districtwide Salute to Student Success

May 29, 2025

As we approach the close of the 2024-25 school year, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) celebrates the incredible achievements of our students at every milestone from our youngest learners to our graduating seniors. The Class of 2025 represents more than just high school; it includes every student moving forward to a new chapter in their educational journey. We are excited to honor each and every one of our DPSCD students.

The District is most proud to celebrate the Class of 2025, our graduating seniors who have demonstrated perseverance, leadership, and commitment throughout their high school years. They have left a lasting impact in classrooms, on athletic fields, in performance spaces, and throughout the community. Their achievements are a testament to years of dedication, creativity, and growth.

“Hands down the Class of 2025 has been one of my most satisfying experiences as a classroom instructor at Pershing. They were focused, fun-loving, easy going, and I am convinced that they are prepared and poised for a bright future. I really do count myself blessed to have had the privilege of teaching them this academic year and I look forward to hearing great things from them in the future”says Melonie Martin, 12th grade ELA at Pershing High School.

From Pre-K to 12th grade, every student has a story worth celebrating. As we send them off to new classrooms, new schools, and new adventures, we are honored to celebrate their academic achievements. Students, families, staff, and the community will come together to celebrate our high school graduates at upcoming commencement ceremonies. This meaningful event marks the closing of one chapter and the beginning of many exciting new journeys—whether in college, careers, the military, or trade programs.

“The Class of 2025 shines not only for their academic achievements, but for the personal growth, resilience, and leadership they’ve demonstrated during their years with us at DIA. They lead with compassion, empathy, and heart; they lift one another up and model the kind of care our world needs more of. Many are pursuing careers in education, social work, and mental health fields. These paths reflect their deep commitment to understanding, supporting, and advocating for others. We are so proud of who they are and the impact they are sure to make” says Molon Rahman, a teacher at the Detroit International Academy for Young Women.

Congratulations to all our students and their families for your hard work and dedication.
