Meet the 2025 Teacher of the Year Finalist-Adriane Robinson-Blair

With 33 years of experience in education, Adriane Robinson-Blair has devoted her career to nurturing young minds and inspiring a passion for learning. Since joining Chrysler Elementary in 2012, she has served as a lead teacher, playing a pivotal role in guiding both her fourth and fifth-grade students while teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies with dedication and care. A proud graduate of Murray-Wright High School, her journey into education was an unexpected yet fulfilling path. “I didn’t initially see myself as an educator, but when I started as a substitute teacher, I quickly realized how much I loved being in the classroom. I seized the opportunity to become certified, and the rest is history.”

Her impact goes far beyond lesson plans and textbooks. One of Robinson-Blair’s most cherished moments as a teacher came years after she had taught a first-grade student early in her career. Now an adult, that former student returned—this time as a parent—hoping that Mrs. Robinson-Blair would teach their child, just as she had once influenced them, ensuring her legacy of inspiration continues for the next generation

For Robinson-Blair, teaching is more than an occupation; it is a calling rooted in connection, care, and community. “I am motivated by my students. They show so much expression of love, no matter the weather or what is going on in their lives.” As a community liaison, she values collaboration with families, knowing that true success in education is built through strong relationships. Through partnerships with faith-based organizations, she has helped provide families with valuable resources during annual “Giving Garland,” an initiative that embraces giving back to their school community families.

Her philosophy is simple yet profound: “Never give up on each other and never give up on our students.” As education evolves with advancements in technology and AI, she remains committed to lifelong learning—just as her students continue to teach her every day.

Robinson-Blair sees education as more than just a profession—it is a ministry, a purpose-driven mission that extends beyond her years in the classroom. “It is such a great honor, and I want my legacy to last long beyond my years.”

Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment have earned her a well-deserved place as a finalist for the 2025 Teacher of the Year—an honor that reflects the profound impact she continues to make in the lives of her students and the community she serves.
