Summer in the "D"PSCD

Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) will be on summer break through Friday, August 23, 2025. While students enjoy a well-deserved vacation, the District and its partners are offering a wide array of programs and support to keep families engaged, nourished, and thriving.

We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, August 25, 2025, until then explore all the resources available to make this summer safe, healthy, and educational.

2025 Summer Learning Experience

Beginning Monday, June 23, 2025, to Friday, July 25, 2025, students enrolled will participate in DPSCD's Summer Learning Experience (no classes Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day). Through the Office of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I), students can access engaging literacy and math resources, plus learning games that spark creativity. Families are encouraged to support 30 minutes of reading each day. Visit Summer in the DPSCD for more educational tools and activities across the city of Detroit.

Health Hubs

Four DPSCD Health Hubs will be open during Summer Break with limited hours. These health hubs provide support with food distribution, basic necessities, and connections to both school and community services. Navigators will be available on-site to assist families throughout the break. Appointments at the Family Resource Distribution Centers (FRDCs) are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Family Resources and Support for Homeless & Foster Care

The Office of Homeless and Foster Care (OHFC) is here for families navigating loss of shelter or housing insecurity:
