Summer on the Block: DPSCD Families, join the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team Thursday, July 17, 2025, for Summer on the Block. There are two locations and times to fit your schedule: Harms Elementary, 2400 Central Street, Detroit, MI 48209, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. or Burton International Academy, 2001 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Detroit, MI 48208, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. There will be free food, giveaways, fun activities for the children as well as resources and enrollment support for families. Vision to Learn Clinic:Is your student struggling with vision or hearing? DPSCD in partnership with Vision to Learn and the Detroit Health Department is offering four free vision and hearing clinics during the summer break. Join the next clinic, Friday, July 18, 2025, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Western International High School, 1500 Scotten Street, Detroit MI 48224. We look forward to seeing you there!
Stay Connected with DPSCD this Summer: Join ESE at the African World Festival: The Office of Exceptional Student Education will be participating in the African World Festival hosted by the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. This three-day event will take place from Friday, July 18 - Sunday, July 20 at Hart Plaza. The Office of Exceptional Student Education will have three tents for our ESE students and families. Each tent will have sensory stations, exciting make and take crafts for children, and informational handouts. For more information, contact Cherie McMillian.
