In Grades 3–8, DPSCD gained 2 points in math proficiency, while the state declined by 4 points—again narrowing the gap.

On the Grade 11 SAT Math assessment, DPSCD improved by 3 points, while the state declined by 10 points.

i-Ready Math results show more students moving into mid- and on-grade level categories over the last two years

Set an alarm. Make sure students receive the appropriate amount of sleep to be alert and prepared for learning in the classroom.

Prepare the night before. Get backpacks and lunches ready to cut down on rushing to get out the door.

Eat a nutritious breakfast. Whether your students receive free breakfast at school, or you prepare a home cooked meal, make sure students have enough time to get their first meal of the day.
Student Performances at the 2025 Detroit Jazz Festival: DPSCD jazz band student performers will take the stage Monday, September 1, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the 2025 Detroit Jazz Festival over Labor Day weekend. Students from Detroit School of Arts, Edward Duke Ellington Conservatory of Music, and Renaissance High School will showcase their talents at the Detroit Jazz Hall located inside the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center at Wayne State University 4743 Cass Avenue Detroit, MI 48202. Come out and support our amazingly talented student musicians. Check out the Program Schedule for more information.
