Parent Academy Workshop: DPSCD Families, join us for this week’s Parent Academy Workshop, Overview of ESE Curriculum on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. This informative session will provide families with an overview of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) curriculum and how it supports student instruction. Let’s Read Tutors Needed! DPSCD Office of Enrollment, Family and Community Engagement, and Division of Literacy are hosting training sessions for Let’s Read Tutors, open to both new and returning volunteers! All interested tutors must complete the Galaxy Volunteer Form before receiving training details and assignments placement. Training will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. Both in-person and virtual options are available. Training dates and times will be provided after the screening process is complete. We’re seeking dedicated individuals to support 1st and 2nd grade students during the school day. If you or someone you know is interested, please spread the word! Let’s work together to help every child become a confident reader!
Benchmark testing continues: The beginning of the year testing window continues this week. These assessments provide teachers with important information about what students know and can do as they start the school year.
- i-Ready Reading: K-8, select 9-11 students
- i-Ready Math: K-8 students
- Science: 5th and 8th grade students
- Social Studies: 5th and 8th grade students
- End-of-Course Assessments: 9th-12th grade students
