Brenda Scott Academy Holds Student Council Election

On Friday October 18, 2019, Brenda Scott Academy held an election for the newly formed student council.  Students were able to vote for the positions of president, vice president, sergeant of arms, and secretary.  Our wonderful Attendance Agent, Ms. Quaker, reached out to Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey to see if the city could provide our students with an authentic voting experience.  Not only did the Clerk's Office send over all the equipment you would see in a real election, but they sent over election officials that walked our students through the entire voting process.  The students were engaged and took the process very seriously.  Many thanks to our guidance counselors, Ms. Adu and Ms. Smart-Johnson for facilitating the process. Thank you to Ms. Clark for spearheading the creation of the student council here at Brenda Scott.

Congratulations to our newly elected student council!

Allison Woodard, President
