Durfee Middle School Students Win Big at Metro Science Fair and Travel to Chicago!

On June 7, 2025, Durfee Middle School students Paris Taylor and Ari'Elle Davis had the incredible opportunity to travel to Chicago as Gold Award winners of the Metro Science Fair. Accompanied by Ms. Clay, the students were part of a special field trip hosted by DAPCEP in celebration of their outstanding science project.

This exciting reward included visits to some of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, dining at top-rated restaurants, and an educational tour of one of the leading science museums in the United States.

We are extremely proud of Paris and Ari'Elle for not only mastering the science concepts taught in class but also using their knowledge to compete—and win—at a high level. Their success is a shining example of what dedication and hard work can accomplish. Congratulations, scholars!
