Lady Bulldogs Capture PSL Gold Division Championship with Gritty Win Over MLK

Detroit, MI – The East English Village Preparatory Academy Lady Bulldogs made history on Saturday, May 24, 2025, with a commanding victory over Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School to claim the PSL Gold Division Softball Championship. The championship matchup took place at the University of Detroit Mercy’s softball field, where fans, families, and supporters filled the stands to witness an unforgettable performance.

In a game marked by determination, teamwork, and powerful plays, the Lady Bulldogs showcased their growth and grit, defeating the MLK Crusaders in a thrilling contest that highlighted the heart of Detroit softball.

From the first pitch, East English Village came out strong both defensively and offensively. With solid pitching, smart base running, and timely hits, the Lady Bulldogs controlled the tempo of the game. Standout moments included a game-changing double in the fourth inning that brought in two runs and a stellar catch in left field that kept MLK from gaining momentum.

For many of the seniors on the team, this victory marks the perfect end to their high school softball careers. The underclassmen, meanwhile, are already looking forward to building on this championship legacy.

The Lady Bulldogs' triumph is not just a win on the scoreboard—it’s a win for the East English Village community. Their resilience, sportsmanship, and teamwork reflect the pride and excellence the school embodies.
