From Garvey to Greatness

KrisTiana D., a proud alumna of Marcus Garvey Academy, has been named the valedictorian of Southeastern High School’s Class of 2025, graduating with an impressive GPA of 4.18.

Even during her early years at Marcus Garvey Academy, KrisTiana stood out as a bright, focused, and inquisitive student. Her teachers recall her as someone who was always eager to learn, asked thoughtful questions, and led by example both inside and outside the classroom. Whether tackling complex math problems or exploring creative writing, she consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a genuine love for learning.

KrisTiana’s academic excellence and commitment to personal growth have earned her a place at Johns Hopkins University, where she will begin her studies this fall. There, she plans to double major in Chemistry and Interdisciplinary Studies, designing a custom degree that combines her passion for photography and film. Her journey reflects a rare blend of intellectual curiosity, artistic talent, and relentless determination—qualities that have shaped her into a leader and visionary.
