Check Out Five Things You Need to Know This Week!

DPSCD’s Teens for Vaccines Information Session Thurs. May. 27 at 3:30 p.m. The Teens for Vaccines campaign continues this week with an information session tailored toward Parent Teachers Association members and DPSCD families on Thursday May 27 from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. The community is welcome to attend these informative sessions, being led by DPSCD students.  Click to join the meeting.  

Engagement Sessions on Plans for the Fall Return to School and COVID Relief Funding The parent listening session scheduled on Tues. May 25 at 5:30 p.m.  will be the repurposed to be the first community engagement session on plans for the fall return to school and COVID relief funding. Your input matters! Tuesday's session will be hosted by Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti and Board Member Coletta Vaughn. As we approach the end of the school year and society moves toward the other side of the pandemic with fewer social restrictions, we invite you to learn about and discuss the district’s Fall return to school plans and use of COVID Relief Funding. After a presentation of those plans are provided, we will open the session to your questions, comments, concerns, and recommendations to our plans to strengthen them. Meeting details and additional information can be found at www.detroitk12.org. #StudentsRise  

Become a DPSCD Ambassador-Training Sessions This Week! DPSCD Ambassadors are a team of committed and passionate District staff, community members and high school students who share the good news that is happening throughout DPSCD. This week, you are invited to join are team by attending training sessions on Tues., May 25, 2021 from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and on Thurs. KinderRise and Other Enrollment Highlights This Week! Be part of the class of 2034 by enrolling your child in kindergarten at a DPSCD school. Check out detroitk12.org/enroll for KinderRise online sessions all this week as well as other online enrollments at neighborhood schools. We are saving a seat for you!   

Memorial Day Holiday is Mon. May 31: Memorial Day is Monday, May 31, where the nation pays tribute to the men and women who died while in military service to our country. All DPSCD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, reopening on Tues. June 1.

  • Please Complete Our Annual Family Survey! Parents, the District seeks to capture your family’s experience through our approach to teaching and learning, particularly given the effects of the pandemic. We value your feedback to refine and improve the services available to our families. All surveys are accessible by visiting https://surveys.panoramaed.com/detroit.   • DPSCD’s Summer Learning Experiences:  Parents and families are invited to complete the Summer Learning Interest Survey .
