DSA is Accepting Applications for 2024!

Detroit School of Arts (DSA), the premier fine, performing, and multi-media arts school in Detroit, is now accepting applications for new students to begin in January 2024 and Fall 2024.

DSA provides a unique, specialized, challenging, integrated academic and arts education designed to produce proficient graduates equipped to succeed in a global society. Majors offered include Dance, Instrumental and Vocal Music, Visual Arts, Multimedia Production, Literary Arts, and Theater.

Auditioning for DSA

The audition dates for Round 1 are October 24, November 20, and December 18. For Round 2 they will be held on February 28, March 21, May 9, June 5, and June 29. Click here to begin your application and select an audition date!

Please note that if you select the Dance, Instrumental and Vocal Music, or Theater as your area of choice, you will be required to select an audition date and conduct an in-person audition. For Visual Arts, Multimedia Production, and Literary Arts, you must upload virtual examples of your work. To learn more about the audition requirements for each discipline, please click here.

Spend the Day at DSA!

Opportunities to see the school in person will be available as well! DSA will host “Spend the Day” dates where students can visit the school and shadow students. Sign up to attend from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the following dates: November 21, December 12, February 13, and March 20.

Spring Open Houses

This spring, on April 24 and May 22, DSA will host Open Houses where families and students can check out the school and learn more about what DSA has to offer.
