Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Monday, January 20, 2025 the Dossin students, parents, and staff as well the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated came together to create a meaningful and inspiring Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event. Middle school boys and girls participated in sessions where they gained valuable insights on finances and making smart life decisions. Meanwhile, elementary students expressed their creativity by drawing posters about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. The day culminated with a trip to the Charles Wright African American History Museum, where students learned about the origins of stepping and even had the opportunity to perform, reciting poetry and delivering speeches. It was a day of learning, empowerment, and celebration of history and culture.
