Honoring Legacy: F.L.I.C.S. Celebrates Black History Month with Culture, Creativity, and Community

Students at F.L.I.C.S. had a powerful and immersive experience as they stepped into history through a Walking Black History Museum set up in their gymnasium. Spearheaded by their dedicated teacher, Mrs. Olafioye (Franklin), the exhibit, brought Black history to life with interactive displays, historical artifacts, and student-led presentations honoring Black leaders, inventors, and cultural icons. As they walked through the exhibit, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions, deepening their appreciation of the rich legacy and contributions of the Black community. The event was a highlight of F.L.I.C.S.’ Black History Month celebrations, inspiring students to embrace history with pride and purpose.
