    The only career and technical center within DPSCD to offer hands-on learning in the construction trades.

    Established September 8, 1981; A. Philip Randolph Career and Technical Center continues to lead the way in developing students in the area of construction trades, which includes:

    Masonry, HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration), Carpentry, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Welding for Construction Trades, Construction Electricity, Entrepreneurship and Project Manaement, Painting and Drywall Finishing.

    Students who choose to attend Randolph, will be provided with a curriculum that combines integrated academic and technical content with employability skills needed for the 21st century.

    Students receive work based learning opportunities that enable the student to connect what they learn in the classroom, and apply that knowledge to real work experiences.

    Upon completion of the construction trades programs here at Randolph; students will be prepared for the many career paths of architecture and construction or continue their education at a post-secondary school or apprenticeship program.

    At Randolph Career and Technical Center, our goal is to provide our students with a combination of employability skills, hands-on experience, safety and work-based learning opportunities that are in demand from our industry partners.  Randolph offers courses that provide strong fundamental skills in the Construction, HVAC, Electrical, and Construction Management fields. First and foremost, students learn industry safety practices with an option to complete an OSHA-10 certification. Students will also learn to use basic hand-tools and modern power equipment using hands-on exercises in fully functional labs located in our Career Technical Center. Our ELA and Math Integration Specialist are availiable to support students with reading and math deficiencies.
