Dear Coleman A. Young Families,

Congratulations on an amazing 2024-25 school year! What a year it’s been. Over the last 9 months, the C.A.Y. community has done so much:

- We were recognized by the district for Excellence as a Top 5 School in iReady improvement.
- We established our first ever successful Student Council.
- We held a dedication ceremony to celebrate our brand-new basketball court decorated with a CAY Smile Mural.
- And so much more.

There is even more to look forward to next year. We are excited to see you back at C.A.Y. on August 25, 2025.

Initiatives at C.A.Y.

What’s new this school year:
- We are bringing back our popular teacher/student mentor program.
- An enhanced after-school tutoring program to target student growth and proficiency.
- We have increased opportunities for parent involvement with monthly parent/community meetings.

What is returning:
- School Wide Curriculum enrichment events: Wax Museum, ELA Celebrations of Learning, Spelling and Math Bees
- Our Fun Committee organizes engaging student-centered events.
- Our partnerships with Wayne State to enhance our teaching practices.
