Students at A. L. Holmes Academy of Blended Learning are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities to broaden their horizons. These activities are scheduled throughout the year. The Black History Program allows students to showcase their talent and to highlight the achievements of African Americans in history. Students are also encouraged to improve their attendance with incentives and awards.
-
Every February, A. L. Holmes makes a concerted effort to highlight the accomplishments and contributions of Africans and African Americans' heritage and culture. This is done through a great deal of collaboration with our wonderful students, staff and administrators.
-
Each year, A. L. Holmes plays host to numerous individuals from various career fields during our Annual Career Day. Mr. James Porter is the coordinator of this annual event. We are so appreciative of all the presenters who come and give our students a glimpse into their future career possibilities.
-
Throughout the year, students are recognized for meeting specific attendance goals. Incentives include recognizing classes or grade levels with the highest average daily attendance and giving individual students an opportunity to win prizes through special drawings.
-
Teachers will be available to explore and explain their grade level curriculum in depth and share with you their aspirations for advancing their students throughout it. You will have the opportunity to see how the teachers at A. L. Holmes Academy of Blended Learning are utilizing various applications to engage your child in the learning process.
