• Breast Cancer Walk Success & Upcoming Events

Last week’s Breast Cancer Walk was a wonderful success! Many of our students learned about how breast cancer has impacted our community and how activism—like awareness walks—supports the mission to find a cure. Thank you to everyone who participated and showed support!

This week, we keep the excitement going with our Fall Crawl celebration! Students are welcome to wear costumes to school on Thursday, October 31. Please remember that masks or items that cover a student’s face are not allowed, and all costumes should be school-appropriate to ensure everyone can participate safely and comfortably throughout the day.

No School on Election Day – Tuesday, November 4
There will be no school on Election Day. We encourage all families to take part in voting and help shape the future of our community—your voice and your vote make a difference! All DDOT buses will be free on Election Day, so you can easily get to and from the polls.

To help families prepare for the cold months ahead, we’ll be hosting a Winter Coat Giveaway on Tuesday, November 4, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If your scholar needs a coat, please visit the school during that time.

    Learning Beyond the Classroom
Consistent studying at home plays a huge role in your scholar’s success! Regular practice strengthens classroom learning and builds confidence. Students can continue using digital learning apps like i-Ready at home for personalized lessons that support growth. Thank you for reinforcing the love of learning both at school and at home!

    Boys Mentoring Program
We’re proud to offer mentoring programs for our young men in grades 2 and up! These programs focus on confidence, leadership, and building positive relationships that inspire success in and out of school. If you’d like your son to participate, please contact our school counselor, Mr. Kevin Parish, at kevin.parish@detroitk12.org.
