Mr. Jose Ramirez

This is my 26th year at the Academy of the Americas. Throughout those years, I have spent my time creating life experiences and opportunities for our students and children of Detroit. I am where I am because my wrestling coach, Willie Gadson, believed in me. He mentored me on and off the mat. Because of him, I was able to compete and graduate from Eastern Michigan University and, ultimately, from Wayne State as well. I currently have 1 child enrolled at AoA, so I am truly invested in the success of our school. I owe a lot to my coach and want to pay him back by being of service to others.
