Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in African-American Studies (2010).

Mr. Laurence Williams

Mr. Williams was born and raised in Detroit. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in African-American Studies (2010). The populations he served are individuals with developmental delay, children’s mental health, homelessness, housing, and adult mental health. Recently, he received his Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Laurence wants to continue his passion for working with children and young people by applying his knowledge and skills at Turning Point Academy.

Mrs. Gemma Haynes

Gemma Haynes is a dedicated School Social Worker with a passion for supporting students' holistic well-being. She actively collaborates with educators and community resources to enhance students' academic success and emotional resilience. With 12 years of experience in educational settings, 5 years of outpatient mental health and 1 year in community health, she is able to positively impact students with her combined experiences.
