Ms. Imani Whitby
I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal, bringing over a decade of experience in education as both an elementary teacher and instructional coach. As a proud product of Detroit Public Schools Community District, having attended DPSCD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade and graduating from Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School, this role holds deep personal meaning.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University, equipping me with both the instructional and leadership skills to support our students, families, and staff.
I believe that all children deserve access to a high-quality education that acknowledges their brilliance and potential. I also believe that there is greatness in Detroit, and I am committed to helping cultivate that greatness every day. At Nichols, I strive to support a school culture grounded in equity, excellence, and care where every child is seen and empowered to succeed. I am truly excited to be a part of the Nichols community and look forward to an amazing school year ahead.
