Welcome to Nichols Elementary/Middle School! My name is Regina Haywood and I am the Principal at Nichols Elementary/Middle School. I have been serving Detroit Public School Community District since 1999 at the elementary and secondary levels. Over the past twenty years I have worked as a teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal in various K-8 schools.

As an administrator I believe in building positive relationships between the school and community. My goal as Nichols’ Principal is to be an educational resource for staff, students and parents. At the core of every successful educational experience is a team of parents, educators, and students working together to make learning meaningful and engaging.
