Dr. Cassandra Moore

Dear Carstens Families and Staff,

My name is Dr. Cassandra Moore, and I am the proud Principal of Carstens Elementary-Middle School! Born and raised here in Detroit, I am a proud DPS graduate from Renaissance High School. During my tenure as an educator for DPSCD, I have served students as Teacher, Master Teacher, Math Instructional Coach, Curriculum Leader, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

I received my Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate from Kentucky State University in Elementary Education. My Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees are from Oakland University in Educational Leadership. I specialize in the science of efficient learning for our students here in Detroit.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also love playing softball and coaching my son's T-Ball team.

I believe that each student that enters through the doors of Carstens should feel loved, challenged, and prepared to be successful K-12 and beyond!
