Mrs. Minnis is looking forward with great expectations as she begins serving the students and families of A. L. Holmes.  She began her educational career with Detroit Public Schools/Detroit Public Schools Community District more than 23 years ago as a Substitute Teacher and her passion for education continues to blossom.  Throughout her educational journey, she has served as teacher, testing coordinator, Web Content Manager, K-8 Instructional Coach, K-5 Literacy Master Teacher and, most recently, she served as the Assistant Principal to Palmer Park Preparatory Academy.  Additionally, she has collaborated on the following teams:  School Improvement, PBIS, Curriculum Calibration, DPSCD EL Education/Teacher Facilitator "Crew" and the Instructional Leadership Team.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Sociology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master of Education from Marygrove College and a K-12 Administrative certificate from Wayne State University.  She believes that ALL students are equipped with infinite funds of knowledge.  Therefore, she embraces the importance of supporting staff, implementing district initiatives, connecting with leadership, partnering with parents, and collaborating with the community to ensure that our students have the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to thrive in our city, our nation, and our world.
