Angela Baldwin

     Lawyer, Native Detroiter, and distinguished leader of several civic and professional organizations.

Angela L. Baldwin, a native Detroiter, is a partner with The Miller Law Firm, and is a distinguished leader of several civic and professional organizations.

Angela specializes in complex commercial litigation, class actions, government regulation, business transactions, and dispute resolution. Her practice includes the successful representation of Fortune 500 companies, publicly traded international companies, automotive suppliers, real estate developers and investors, national restaurant franchisees, municipalities, elected officials and non-profits. Assisting her clients in risk management has allowed her to achieve notable results, to include multi-million-dollar settlements. Angela is experienced in conducting sensitive and internal investigations across multiple industry verticals and is a trusted advisor who came to the practice with significant private sector experience, having spent nearly a decade in supply chain management for Fortune 100 companies to include PepsiCo and its subsidiary brands.

Beyond her practice, Angela has extensive experience in governance and is significantly involved in the community via leadership positions in multiple organizations. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Hispanic National Bar Association as well as several corporate Boards such as MiSide and the Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit (MOCAD). As a City of Detroit mayoral appointee, she served as Chair of the Detroit Elected Officials Compensation Commission. As a gubernatorial appointee, Angela advised the Governor and Legislature regarding changes in state programs, statute, and policies in her role as Commissioner to the State of Michigan’s Hispanic Latino Commission. As the President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan she led initiatives focused on cross-sector community programs, created the endorsement/support protocols for judicial and non-partisan candidates, and instituted a scholarship program, awarding merit-based scholarships to underprivileged law students annually. Angela is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Leadership Detroit Class XLI and the Harvard Business School’s American Leaders Program. She was appointed Manager for Non-Profit Participation for the Detroit Branch NAACP’s Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner, the largest fundraiser for civil rights in the United States. An athlete and competitor, Angela served on the Detroit Athletic Club’s Master Planning Steering Committee as well and the Athletic Committee.

Angela’s profession and civic efforts have led to multiple awards and acknowledgements, to include her most recent accolade as a DBusiness Top Lawyer for 2025. Super Lawyers recognized Angela as one of Michigan’s Rising Stars, an honor reserved to the top 2.5% of attorneys. She has been additionally honored by the Detroit Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan, and has been distinguished as one of the top women in her profession and community by the Hispanic Latino Commission of Michigan. Angela received the City of Detroit’s highest recognition, the “Spirt of Detroit Award” for her outstanding achievement and service, and the Detroit Bar Association recognized Angela’s leadership having presented her with its prestigious “One to Watch” award; She was presented a “Top Latinas in Michigan Award” by the Hispanic Latino Commission of Michigan and has been featured by the Detroit Lawyer Magazine and Michigan State University Law School’s “Spartan Lawyer” publication.

Angela is an accomplished professional dedicated to lifelong learning and has a deep appreciation for contemporary art, travel, culture, and community engagement.
