The Department of Partnerships collaborates with District staff, industry partners, community members, and families to help support exceptional learning environments for every child, every day. Our team is committed to closing the gap and providing services in three targeted areas that support the District's strategic vision: Partnerships, Grants, and Donations. We look forward to working with you to secure resources, foster connections, provide training, and advance educational outcomes for all our students.

DPSCD Partners Provide Extensive Support Services for Students

DPSCD partners have a long history of providing a rich array of resources for DPSCD students. This was particularly evident when DPSCD partners stepped up to the plate to offer a wide range of services for students when face-to-face instruction was put on hold in November.

“In just two to three days after Dr. Vitti announced a suspension of face-to-face learning, we had a conference call with 78 partners who were anxious to support the District in any way they could,” said Partnerships Office Project Manager, Adam Kind. “Every single question the partners had was around how they could help.”

The partners unanimously agreed to support the District’s Resource Hubs, which were designed to provide critical wrap-around services during the pandemic. When the District identified areas of high need, such as food security, health care, and academic support, our partners were ready for the challenge.  Gleaners and Atlas provided more than 80,000 pounds of food for families before the break. Gleaners went a step further and also secured funding to expand food distribution to all 13 Resource Hubs.

Henry Ford Health System and Ascension, which already had clinics at seven of the schools designated as Resource Hubs, found ways to bring support to additional Hub schools. Several academic partners created new online systems to give parents and students the ability to request help directly.

Thanks to the commitment of our partners DPSCD students and families can receive a smorgasbord of services, from tutoring to health care to food distribution and more. We are grateful for the commitment and generosity of our partners which enables us to serve our students with excellence, meeting critical needs during challenging times.
