  • The Department of Labor Relations serves the vital role of ensuring the application and appropriate administration of The Public Employees Relations Act (PERA) as it relates to its unionized employees. In performing this function the Department facilitates the relationship between the DPSCD and the various labor unions representing its employees; prepares information and data to utilize during the collective bargaining process; negotiates labor contracts; administers the negotiated contract, including the investigation and processing of grievances related to wage, salaries and other contract interpretations disputes; and develops labor and employment policies, providing guidance to Human Resources professionals to ensure compliance with laws and contracts.
