Parents
-
Parents are their child’s first teacher and a key partner to DPSCD during their educational career. Parent involvement in education correlates with higher academic performance and school improvement. When schools, parents, families, and communities work together to support learning, students tend to earn higher grades, attend school more regularly, stay in school longer, and enroll in higher-level programs (National Education Association).
We have built multiple platforms for parents to share their talents and skills through PTA, School Advisory Councils, and Parent Action Leaders. Parent Academy is our primary platform to invest in our parents as they have invested their children and time with Us. We have designed workshops and training, based on what parents have told us they need and want, to help build and sharpen their skills in parenting and education information and support strategies to increase our children’s success.
