The Division of Partnerships and Innovation is committed to creating opportunities for students to flourish through exceptional partnerships and student-centered initiatives.

We focus creative energy on empowering our students to thrive through the inspired vision of five departments: Enrollment, College and Career Readiness, Adult Education, Charter Schools, and Office of Physical Health. Each department and its individual team members leverage professional excellence and a passionate commitment to see students rise every day.

Adult Education - Adult Education provides free classes for adult learners giving them the opportunity to upgrade their academic skills, complete high school, obtain General Educational Development (GED), and other services. We also provide opportunities at two Detroit Learning Labs for students to receive HSE preparation. Enrollment is year-round and classes are offered Monday-Friday.   

Charter Schools - Detroit Public Schools Community District authorizes 6 public school academies on 6 campuses that serve students in a variety of settings and models from kindergarten through high school. The mission of the Charter Schools Office is to support, develop and hold accountable high-performing charter schools that prepare Detroit children for college and careers.

College and Career Readiness -  College and Career Readiness offers a diverse portfolio of career pathway education programs to provide real-work experiences and exposure to future career opportunities. Our career-focused training leads to meaningful employment and access to postsecondary opportunities.  

Physical Health - Physical Health aims to create a safe and healthy learning environment by removing health-related barriers so that students can learn, grow, and thrive. Services include nursing teams, school-based health centers, dental and vision and our COVID team.
