Release of 2023-2024 Graduation Rates, Districtwide Improvement!

February 28, 2025

DPSCD Staff, Families, and Students,

I wanted to start your day and the end of the week with exciting news about our District’s overall graduation rates and those of our individual high schools! Recently the state released last year’s rates and the District’s 4-year graduation rate increased by +3.8% points bringing us to 78.1%. By comparison, we improved at a higher rate than the state (+1.1%), and we are now only 4.7% points away from the state average (82.8%).

79% of our high schools improved their rates (19 of 24); therefore, similar to our other District academic indicators, we are demonstrating systemic and scaled improvement in this area as well. This is our highest 4-year graduation rate while being governed by a locally elected School Board. The District’s all-time high (78.3%) was achieved when the Education Achievement Authority (EAA) took our lower performing high schools, and our graduation rate was inflated as a result. At that time, the District was governed by Emergency Management.

Below is a breakdown of individual high school graduation rates for the District over the last two years.

Thank you to each of you for contributing to this improvement over the years! We all know there is A LOT of work that must be poured into making sure students graduate in 4 years!!!
