Application High Schools
Detroit Public Schools Community District offers six application high schools, which provide a variety of specialty programming in the Fine and Performing Arts, Science and Medicine, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences, Aviation, Foreign-Language Immersion, and Single-Gender Education. Dual-enrollment opportunities for college credit are available through each school, as well as eligibility for the Detroit Promise scholarship- a tuition-free path to trade, two-year and four-year credentials at select Michigan colleges and universities.

- Train to Fly Cessna Aircrafts and Commercial Drone Piloting
Our students are prepared to test for their remote pilot’s license in order to join the field of commercial drone piloting. We are one of the only schools in the country to train students to fly Cessna aircrafts. The Davis Aerospace Robotics team (Red Tails) placed 2nd in the 2020 Robotics Competition at Southfield High School and 30 students participated in "Women in Aviation Day" at Delta headquarters. Starting this year, 9th and 10th grade students will be taking aviation classes at Detroit City Airport.
