Cell Phone Towers

After careful review of its agreements, to our knowledge Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) continues to comply with all Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulations through the providers of cell phone towers. The FCC oversees and regulates all cell phone tower providers and activity. A report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found that there is “insufficient evidence to support a causal association between radiofrequency radiation exposure and (tumor formation).” Researchers also say that the waves radiating from cell towers don’t have enough energy to directly damage human DNA or heat body tissues. Based on this information, DPSCD has asked Dan Scripps, Chair, Michigan Public Service Commission and U.S. Senator Gary Peters, to make additional information available to the public to help answer any concerns or questions regarding the location of cell phone towers.
