Through the District’s Fund Balance and the creation of a Capital Fund in 2018, the District has committed over $132 million in anchor investments to improve the conditions of schools and facilities.

Based on the results of an independent facility assessment conducted in 2018, the District continues to prioritize the needs of each school by utilizing a facility condition index metric used to rate the building’s exterior and interior systems. Using this data, the District addresses pressing and immediate repairs or replacement to alleviate disruption to instruction due to faulty infrastructure. Priority is given to immediate facility needs that prevent the day-to-day operations of the school. Investments are then focused on buildings that will be used for the next 20 years with high enrollment, high building utilization, and lower FCI scores.
