The One-to-One Student Technology Initiative aims to provide DPSCD students with anytime, anywhere access to learning and enrichment resources to positively impact academic achievement, enhance the learning experience in and out of the classroom, and equip the next generation of digital learners with the tools and access needed for success in life.
The 2022-2023 launch of the evolved One-to-One program will be managed by schools individually with support from the Technology Division. Different from previous device deployments, this program has requirements for schools, teachers, students, and parents.
Parents will be required to complete a self-paced training, including a signature to enroll their child in the initiative. Parents will learn about device care and maintenance and should prepare to support their students in this program.
Through the evolved One-to-One program, schools will assign laptops to students for in-school carry to establish device responsibility, care, and safekeeping routines before taking devices home. The Student Technology Initiative will include a new iPad for our PreK-2 and ESE students and an HP laptop for 3rd-12th grade students. Mobile hotspots will also be provided for students participating in the program.
All schools will assign and distribute devices and mobile hotspots to students through a scheduled deployment with the Technology Division. All devices are owned by DPSCD and should be returned to the District at the end of each school year. Students enrolled in the One-to-One initiative, will be reassigned a different device at the start of each school year.
